Rhokkoh’s Frozen Yogurt
There are plenty of things that make for a great day at the beach. Spending time by the ocean or visiting Daytona Beach attractions and shops are beach day staples but it’s also nice to have a treat to make the day perfect. If you ask me, frozen yogurt, or as I affectionately call it, “fro yo,” is a great thing to eat after a day at the beach or any day you are looking for a delicious frozen treat.
Being the frozen yogurt lover that I am, I was very excited when
I heard about a new frozen yogurt shop in Daytona Beach. Rhokkoh’s Frozen Yogurt, located on Beach Street, is only a few months old, but a wonderful addition to the Daytona Beach area. I ventured in on a Saturday afternoon and was immediately impressed with both the atmosphere and variety of frozen yogurt choices available.
Rhokkoh’s décor is very modern, offering plenty of futuristic seating areas as well as free WIFI for those who plan to stay awhile. The shop also has plenty of windows that showcase the rest of Beach Street as well as the Halifax Marina.
Rhokkoh’s offers plenty of great flavor options including sugar free, fat free, and sorbet. The toppings for the frozen yogurt are just as varied as the flavors. Take your pick of Ghirardelli syrups, fresh fruit, cereal or a range of different candies. The shop offers the standard self-serve “pay by the ounce” method in which customers can buy as little or as much as they want while creating the perfect combination of flavors and toppings in one cup.
After taking advantage of the free sample cups, I tested a few options and decided on a mixture of fat free cheesecake and pumpkin pie frozen yogurts topped with strawberries, Sno Caps, and animal crackers. The yogurt was absolutely delicious and the flavors great. I’ve had a lot of frozen yogurt recently, and Rhokkoh’s tops the list of my favorites. The yogurt was smooth and creamy with the perfect amount of sweetness. It wasn’t too icy or too melty, it tasted just the way frozen yogurt should taste.
As if the fun atmosphere and tasty yogurt wasn’t enough to have me hooked, Rhokkoh’s also has a charity aspect. The shop has a pet food bank located right in the store where people can donated pet food for local shelters. The employee working that day told me that the owners are animal lovers and wanted to give customers an opportunity to give to a cause that they value. As a past volunteer at a local animal shelter, this aspect touched my heart and made me enjoy Rhokkoh’s even more.
Rhokkoh’s Frozen Yogurt is a great place to visit during a day at the beach or for just a quick stop to satisfy a sweet tooth.
