Museum of Arts and Sciences Continuing Exhibits 

Continuing Exhibits: The Root Family Museum, featuring Coca-Cola© memorabilia and other Americana; the Cuban Foundation Collection; Frischer Sculpture Garden; Anderson C. Bouchelle Gallery for International Decorative Arts; Kim A. Klancke, M.D., and Marsha L. Klancke Environmental Education Complex in Tuscawilla Preserve; Schulte Gallery of Chinese Art; Helene B. Roberson Visible Storage Building; The Giant Ground Sloth; The Charles and Linda Williams Children’s Museum, the first hands-on science center in Volusia County, featuring more than 9,000 square feet of interactive exhibits.

Museum Hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Monday – Saturday) and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Sunday).   Museum admission is $12.95 adults; $6.95 children 6‐17; $10.95 seniors and students; members and children 5 and under are free. 

One planetarium show is included with the purchase of your admission ticket to the Museum of Arts & Sciences. Additional Planetarium Shows: $5 adults, $3 children. Monday – Friday Showtimes are 1 – 4 p.m.; Saturday Showtimes are 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. & Sunday Showtimes are 12 – 4 p.m.

Planetarium and laser shows daily. Parking is free.

Admission is FREE for Volusia County residents the first Tuesday of each month. MOAS is fully accessible to the handicapped.

Throughout most of its history, Florida has been under water. Portions of the Florida peninsula have been above or below sea level at least four different times. As glaciers of ice in the north expanded and melted, the Florida peninsula emerged and submerged. Florida, both under and above water has had an interesting ecological history with amazing animals, some extinct and some still alive today. The Nature of It: Florida’s Past and Present showcases some of the Museum’s Florida specimens alongside pieces on loan from other museums to illustrate the breadth of Florida flora and fauna past and present. 

The Museum’s extraordinary collection of Florida fossils, shells, and other specimens offer a glimpse into the natural history of the state. Immerse yourself in the world of the whale, dolphin, bear, manatee, and other animals that have shaped Florida’s past and continue to shape its future. A full set of giant Megalodon shark jaws on loan from the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville, Florida will be one of the highlights of the exhibit.

Climb to the Moon at Florida’s tallest lighthouse! Treat yourself, significant other, family, and friends to breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, World’s Most Famous Beach, Ponce Inlet, and coastal wetlands under the golden glow of the setting sun. Toast the full moon with a sparkling beverage as it rises above the Atlantic Ocean and enjoy panoramic vistas of the Florida coast by moonlight.  Enjoy hors d’oeuvres provided by Hidden Treasures – Ponce Inlet Restaurant.  Join the old lighthouse keeper as he leads you on your journey into the past and discover the unique history of this National Historic Landmark.

Open to young and old alike, Climb to the Moon is offered only once a lunar month when the moon is at its fullest. Participation is limited to 25 guests per event. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are sold on a first come first serve basis. Event dates and times differ depending on the time of the year. Please refer to the Calendar of Events for specific event dates and times.

Climb to the Moon admission prices are $35 for non-members and $30 for Preservation Association Members. Memberships may be purchased online by clicking on this lighthouse memberships link. Climb to the Moon tickets may be purchased in advance by contacting the museum’s administrative assistant Angel Wuest via email at admin@ponceinlet.org or by phone at 386-761-1821 ext. 10.

Join them monthly for a Second Saturday Laser Rock Concert in the MOAS Planetarium! Second Saturday Laser Rock Concert tickets can be purchased the week of the show at the Museum’s guest relations desk or at the door the night of the event. Entry to the show is through the Planetarium lobby entrance. Seating for these concerts are limited. Snacks, beer, and soft drinks can be purchased at the Museum to be enjoyed during the show. Gold Star Ballroom- Every Saturday night, 7 – 10:30 p.m.

Join Gold Star Ballroom every Saturday night for a dance lesson taught by local instructors. (Social Ballroom, Latin and Swing) The party starts with a fun group class from 7 – 8 p.m., followed by general dancing from 8:00 – 10:30 p.m.

Every second and fourth Saturday, the dances are hosted by the USA Dance Chapter #6026.

Admission is $10, members, ($15 non members) Gold Star Ballroom is a beautiful ballroom with a friendly atmosphere and commitment to providing each individual with a quality dance experience.

Join them for Practice Nights on Thursday at 7 – 8:30 p.m. and is only $5. Requests are welcome. Meet with friends to practice in a casual atmosphere. 

Beginning and Intermediate Group classes take place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights, lessons vary each month, check our calendar for updates.
